Global Ecology and Environmental Group (Ecology Group) has announced the acquisition of Biodiverse Consulting, a multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy specialising in Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) consultancy and brokerage, nutrient neutrality, landscape architecture and ecological services.
Founded in 2019 by Managing Director Vicki Mordue, Biodiverse Consulting provides trusted, expert-led solutions for people, businesses and nature’s recovery. Supporting development, infrastructure and habitat bank projects across various sectors, Biodiverse Consulting covers each stage of the project lifecycle from initial appraisal and design through to planning and post-project management.
With a growing team of 32 spread across its Kent and Newcastle offices, the business has established a broad national reach and a client base including major residential developers Story Homes, Miller, Bellway, and Gleeson, as well as renewable clients like Enviromena.
Biodiverse Consulting has built its reputation around the belief that responsible development and biodiversity go hand in hand, making it perfectly aligned with the Group’s knowledge that development, the economy, and human activity are entirely dependent upon nature. The business has supported clients across a range of development and habitat bank projects, including Kent-based flagship and CIEEM Award nominated habitat bank Chalksole Farm and the recently consented Great North Road Solar and Biodiversity Park project.
Known for its creative and pragmatic approach to facilitating the best possible outcomes for business and biodiversity, Biodiverse Consulting also offers a brokerage service, matching developers with high-quality habitat banks.
The acquisition strengthens Ecology Group’s ecological and biodiversity capabilities, including biodiversity net gain, habitat and protected species assessment, nutrient neutrality, landscape architecture, and practical support throughout the planning and development lifecycle.
It also brings complementary commercial and business advisory expertise, alongside a trusted national network of ecological specialists, technical partners, and collaborators that enables Biodiverse Consulting to assemble teams around the location, scale, and technical requirements of individual projects.
Since its inception in spring 2025, Ecology Group has grown quickly and strategically, bringing together respected ecological and environmental consultancies to build a new and distinct leader in the sector.
