Global Ecology and Environmental Group (Ecology Group) has announced today the acquisition of Mine Environment Management, a leading geoscience and environmental engineering consultancy.

Founded by Steven and Marguerite Pearce, the business is specialist in delivering practical and pragmatic answers for the global mining industry, across the full life-of-mine cycle, from planning to operations, closure and regeneration.

Established with the aim of using sound, scientific principles to develop new and innovative solutions, Mine Environmental Management are strong proponents of the “Science behind Success”.

With its headquarters in Denbigh, North Wales, a second office in Cardiff, and a Swedish operation based in Stockholm, the business has a significant global footprint, with projects delivered across the Nordics, Africa, Eastern Europe, Canada, South America, Central and East Asia, and Australia.

The expertise of its team is noteworthy with a strong track record in applied industrial research, and its team collectively authoring over seventy published scientific papers relating to mine site geochemistry, laboratory testing, mine waste management, mine closure planning, carbon capture, and water treatment. The business is actively collaborating with numerous industry partners and academic institutions on research projects covering subjects from carbon sequestration to modular water treatment.
